Apple Purchase History Not Showing? Here's How to Fix It

Blog · 3 min read

You open your Apple account to check a recent purchase, and... nothing. Your purchase history is blank, incomplete, or showing transactions from years ago but nothing recent. It's a frustrating problem, but it's usually fixable.

Why Your Purchase History Might Be Missing

There are several reasons your Apple purchase history might not be showing:

1. You're Signed Into the Wrong Apple ID

This is the most common cause. If you have multiple Apple IDs (perhaps one from years ago), purchases are tied to whichever account made them. Check which Apple ID you're currently signed into by going to Settings > [Your Name] on your iPhone.

2. Apple's Servers Are Having Issues

Apple's purchase history system occasionally goes down. Check apple.com/uk/support/systemstatus to see if there are any ongoing issues with the App Store or Apple ID services.

3. The Purchase Was Made Through Family Sharing

If someone else in your Family Sharing group bought the app, it won't appear in your personal purchase history. It'll show up under the original purchaser's account instead.

4. You've Hidden the Purchase

Apple lets you hide purchases from your history. If you've done this (perhaps accidentally), the items won't show up in your normal purchase list.

How to Unhide Purchases

  1. Open the App Store
  2. Tap your profile icon in the top right
  3. Tap your name, then scroll down to Hidden Purchases
  4. Find the app and tap Unhide

5. Your Device Software Is Outdated

Older versions of iOS can sometimes have trouble loading purchase history. Make sure you're running the latest version:

  1. Go to Settings > General > Software Update
  2. Install any available updates

Still Not Working? Try These Fixes

  • Sign out and back in — Go to Settings > [Your Name] > Sign Out, then sign back in
  • Check on the web — Visit reportaproblem.apple.com to see your purchase history through a browser
  • Clear the App Store cache — Open the App Store and tap the tab bar at the bottom 10 times quickly to force a refresh
  • Restart your device — Sometimes the simplest fix is the right one
  • Contact Apple Support — If nothing else works, Apple can look up your purchase history directly

Check Your Email Instead

Every Apple purchase generates a receipt email. If your in-app purchase history is playing up, search your email inbox for messages from no_reply@email.apple.com to find individual transaction records.
